    i know there a broker/comparison site,

i got a quote from them online, 890 on a 1l polo, first time insurance on my own,

so rang them up to find out what the situation was, and they came back with a quote of nearly 1500

so i told them what i got online and they said it was because i had 1 year driveing experience down, which was invalid because it was 2 years ago,

so fine, i said id get back to them,

tried their online quote again, left all no claims as no, so no experience at all and got a quote of 1050, although slightly dearer than before still better than 1500, what im wondering is could i just purchase it online?? because no doubt theyll try and fob me off when i ring and try get 1500 out of me

and yes all my details are correct, iv checked numerous times,

also when im calling other companies and compareing prices, is an online quote valid, like could i say tell X company i got qoute 1050 from Y company can you beat it? or would they say that id have to ring and make sure thats what i got,

sorry if im not makeing total sense here,
any help appreciated, and thanks in advance

if you're happy with the online quote, and that you have filled in all the required fields correctly and honestly.. then go for it

i am quite happy with it compared to the rest, next closest was britton at just over 1300

but what im wondering is could i say ring britton and tell them i got that quote online and try bargain them down? or would they not accept an online quote?

keep getting call backs, most of them say its too low to beat, never seem to ask any questions,

top quote came down from 2200 to 1600, so its not like they cant do it

This is really interesting stuff about an online insurance quote !
    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/finance/2012/0522/1224316492264.html
"Third time lucky for a better website car insurance quote"
    "CONOR POPE
was running his details through Aviva’s own website and a quote came out at €522.46. He left the site and forgot to note the quote number down.“So today I entered all my details in again to get a quote and was quoted €700,” he writes. He figured that there must have been a mistake so he went back and entered the details again and up came the €522.46 quote. “Much better but what did I do differently?” he asked himself
