changing from Sky to Freesat

Ok so I'm looking to switch over to Freesat and I'm gonna go for the Humax Foxsat HDR.

Question is can I simply unplug the Sky+ box and replace it with the Humax. Is it just a simple swap or more wiring needed?
I'd prefer not to have to get someone install it to keep costs down.

At the moment there are 2 cables coming from dish/LNB to sitting room.

Also is there much to getting old Sky box set up in another room for freeview?

    Any help appreciated
    Thanks
    Bull

Yes, just unscrew 2 wires from sky+ and screw them into the back of the humax.

Easy to set up another box, you probably have a quad lnb on your dish (yoke at end with wires coming out of it. Just screw another wire into that and wire it to where you want the sky box (not sure does it work with one wire though).
If your lnb doesn't have a spare output, you can easiy buy one on flea bay and replace the one you have with it.

The only other thing you need at setup is a UK postcode for whatever ITV HD region you want as your default - it's not an issue for BBC as you can customise that in the menu.

Apart from that, it's as The Driver said, a straight swap.

Not too sure if its is too late but another to do is when your formatting the hard drive before you have recorded anything change the size of the photo and music partitions, if you dont plan on using them. This will free up more space for recording tv programmes!
