Based in Raheny, where's the closest place to go to do 10km TT or intervals - was thinking going to Ashbourne then TTing towards Slane and back as theres only 1 traffic light which is always green and decent surface, just loads of trucks :(

Any suggestions or a clear route, a loop would be even better with left turns!

From the brock inn to the ashbourne roundabout and back is a 16km tt route used by DWCC

Thanks, so from roundabout at brock inn to roundabout before ashbourne and back again? Is there any traffic lights or possible disruptions bar the roundabout bit?

There are lights somewhere along the route. Last time I did a TT there they were covered over and not in use. The start and finish position for 16km is the first entrance to the Brock inn car park at the pitch and putt course. There may be roadworks there at the minute as our TT last night was cut short but we are told they will be clear within a week.

great stuff, i'll check it out so, can start 3 km up the road and go out and back if that skips the traffic lights/works, thanks

Best thing to do is a reccy some day in the car on the way home from work to find out where you can start from.

Isn't there a 5k loop at the back of the airport thats used sometimes for tt as well starting at the boot inn? I think it was used in the student league earlier in the year.

Yeah boot inn i think works out at 8km so you can do it twice to make 16km. Surface is a bit dodge though and main road can be very busy.

If you don't mind a few loops, why don't you just keep cycling around a roundabout.:D

On the same theme, if anyone knows a good stretch in South Dublin / North Wicklow for intervals would be very interested to hear. Best I've come up with so far is Stepaside to Eniskerry.

Ended up doing the back of the airport, starting at the turn off to the ward, cycling to the end of road roundabout, taking a left, carrying on past Keelings to the next roundabout, around that and back to where I started, nice surface, and got through roundabouts no bother on all intervals! Its 10km to do that and will defo use it again, thanks for ideas
