    Hi folks,

I will be overnighting on Monday night next May 28th in Dublin and would like to photograph down around the docklands etc.

I know most of you have done so already but if a few souls would oblige it would be appreciated as don't fancy doing so alone.

I was on the last night photowalk down the boardwalk and through templebar, it was a great evening with equally great shots from all. I'm very wary of hanging around town at night with photo-gear though, if you get good numbers certainly count me in too. :)

Yes it would be nice to have a few more, how about starting off at the Custom House and moving down towards Grand Canal Dock.
    Anyone else interested ?

@ okmqaz42 GM and thanks for interest -

The thing is if you are after night shots even 9pm might be too early. It felt like it only started getting dark at about 10pm last night? I could be wrong because I was at a party but I was keeping an eye on the daylight to get an idea how late it would have to be. Have many confirmed being able to make it?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,250 ✭✭✭pixbyjohn

Whats the latest count for this walk > meeting at the Custom House at 9 pm
for some daylight shots until darkness falls. Then a few night shots.
    John

@Phil - some really nice shots there well done. Odd question but what did you look like? I'm having difficulty remembering people because it was dark and I was concentrating so hard on looking through the lens. :)

Big baldy patch and glasses :P

Ah cool did you have a Nikon and a wide angle lens? If so then I remember you or I'm getting you mixed up with okmqaz42. All the photo-walks I've been on were at night so it seems there are lots of vampyre photographers out there. :)

Thanks Lisa, I was wearing a black Baseball cap, was out with you and a few others (Ger & Andy) on the last photowalk up around temple bar. I was using a Nikon alright but not a wideangle :(

Oh darn sorry, it was the dark and I'm on a lot of meds so my memory is all over the place. I actually had amnesia at one point, I suppose the great thing about photography is even if you forget you still have an image of it. I remember now you did the awesome shot of the round metal cover on the ground and got the best picture of the lights under O'Connell bridge. It takes a while but it comes to me eventually. :)

@ Phil; Great photos, well done.

    I must resize mine again.................

    Super shots from everyone.
There are a few members of Greystones Camera Club doing the same walk next Thursday 7th. June if anyone here is interested.
Meeting place is Custom House at 9 pm.
    Regards,
    John

Hmmm I'm very tempted to do it again John, we certainly had good numbers last time. If the weather is nice again I'll probably come along. I'm not sure what I'd get differently shot-wise but put me down as a maybe. :)

Word of warning for the walk guys, Thursday night looks to be a washout

Thanks dacogawa, turns out I might have to go to a wine and sushi party so I'd probably be missing the walk anyways. We were blessed with great weather for the last one and it was actually cool and refreshing being out all hours on the docklands. I got enough of the rain and wind over the weekend at the Bavaria event, but I'm sure the weather will improve as time goes on.

Yes it looks like it is going to be awful weather, we won't be out walking if its raining.
We will just wait and see what happens tomorrow .

Weather update: It's still raining in the city at the moment and the Liffey looks quite high. I don't know if the weather will change but it looks like the rain might be another all nighter. It's not too cold but its wet enough that once you are out long enough in it you might get cold.
