Do you mean the dial is physically broken or you just mean that it doesnt cool the car. The fiestas I think have a problem with a faulty valve on the coolant pipework around the bulkhead (area that seperates engine from car interior) that can cause this issue.

Did you buy it from a Garage with a warranty ?

yeah garage gave no warrenty for anything under 5000 euro, its just the dial itself doesnt work, only blows warm air, help

When a garage sells to a private customer they're still liable for the goods to work as they're supposed to unless they mentioned the AC problem to you prior to sale.

'No warranty' cannot be applied to a private seller so they're responsible for it. Unless you want to kick up a storm with them I'd suggest you go to a mechanic and let him diagnose the fault.

With the weather we're having I'm swearing by the AC. Don't know how I managed in days of old!

As above, the valve that opens and closes to allow/stop the hot water getting into the interior rad..which then heats or cools the air is a very common failure on these.

BTW, Its the temperature control dial, its not air conditioning. Its very unlikely that an Irish 00 Fiesta has air conditioning.

I never said they don't exist, but they are a very tiny percentage of all the fiesta models sold. Sure even many of the latest model fiesta's, 12 years later, still don't have A/C.

"BTW, Its the temperature control dial, its not air conditioning." You just stated as a fact that it's not A/C!!

I'd say it's more likely they were throwing in A/C and other extras in some promotion at the time and there's probably plenty of them around.

I said the dial she is talking about is not A/C. A/C is activated by a single button, the temperature control button is the same weather the car has A/C or not.

The ghia model had aircon, it's common enough on fiestas towards the end of the model

Great system too. Had it in an LX model. Turned the little car into a freezer.
