As the title says, I'm travelling from Limerick (city) to Rosslare to catch the early ferry, which would be the best route and how long would it take?

What time is the early ferry? Might help. Are you driving or using public transport?

If it's driving viamichelin says N24/N25 via Clonmel and Waterford taking 2'48.

N24-N25 Cahir, Clonmel and WAterford are bypassed, but Tipperary, Carrick-on-Suir and New Ross aren't.

Google Maps suggests via the M7 is an option, but it takes longer time wise and is quite a bit longer distance wise. I imagine fuel cost would be similar. Overall, I suspect it would be messier.

    Agree with the above post.

At that time of the morning your not going to encounter any heavy traffic (Tipp Town can be a bit heavy at times during rush hour) Not the worst drive in the world OP have actually done it a few times in the past.

I'll be heading that way myself in July. We'll be leaving Limerick in mid afternoon & hoping to arrive in Rosslare by dinner time. We'll have 2 kids with us that get car sick, so we aren't going to do the trip non stop.

Any tips for nice, kid friendly places to break the drive and have a snack and/or stretch of the legs on the way? How long should the journey take considering the need for at least one pit stop on the way, and the fact that we'll probably be hitting at least one town around the peak 5pm rush hour time. As of now, we plan of going via the N24/25. Ta.

Nice easy place to find is Barne Lodge just after Clonmel on the Cahir side. Plenty of parking, foods ok, and a chance to stretch the legs.
