is it natural to feel like i'm getting 'unfit' during taper, 2 weeks since i did an LSR in prep for Cork and really feel i need to get out and run again, been doing a few short ones but getting concerned about the step up to 26 miles next week......eeek. Planning a 6 miles tonight, 2/3 miles tomorrow and then a LSR of 8 on Sunday.

I think you have incorrectly titled your thread.

It's okay though, a lack of verbal dexterity is probably one of the signs of taper madness.

This symptom of "unfitness" is extremely common and will linger for the next few days until you are lined up at the start line in Cork.

On a more serious note, you can't "undertrain" at this stage and undo all the work you have put in over the last few months. Trust your training. Any effort to try and sneak in extra mileage will be to your detriment.

    Best of luck in Cork
