silly question

i was wacthing snakes on a plane the other night (yes i was that bored) and it got me to wondering on 2 things.
1) would all the snakes not of been killed by the cold in the cargo hold?
2) if the snakes were not killed by the cold would it be possible for them to get from the hold into the plumbing system and air vent system ect.

i know its hollywood and all but i was wondering how possible it would be?

Larry to simply answer your question not all holds are cold holds as some airlines will carry animals in the hold.

Although i have heard before of one airline carrying a aqaurium for some rich family and the captain forgot to put the heating on in the hold.

As you guess on arrival they recieved a ice block from the hold

And two on 737's for exmaple theres no real way for an animal to get from the hold to the pax cabin.

And incase you watch airoplane no the autopilot is not an inflatable pilot that takes your seat as you see in the movie
