Hey I have a leather strap on my watch which I wear all the time.....

It now stinks...also I am starting to get a stinky wrist from it.

Any tips on how to keep it stink free.....

I'm thinking of using the leather cleaner I have for the couch at home, which I think is bee wax based.....I'm not sure if it would iritate my arm though.

I've tried warm soapy water, but as soon as it's dry the stink is back :(

Saddle soap, followed after drying by beeswax has rejuvenated and destinked leather straps for me in the past and bear in mind some were from the early part of the 20th century so...

White spirits or meths. Kills the bacteria that creates the smell.

True enough K, but it'll also dry the leather out, so you need to moisturise it afterwards. If the leather has a fine finish white spirit may well damage it. On top of that it's an irritant so may well cause skin reactions.

I've tried soaking it in hand de sanitizer as I thought it was probably bacterial..... No joy though.

Tried soap as well now it just has a slightly soapy tinge to the musty smell.

I think it's time for a new strap all right.
