    Been thinking of changing for a while now. Driving an 04 320d with 200k miles

    Was thinking of changing to 520, A4/5/6 or similar. Working in UK so VRT not a consideration. Would buy in UK and bring back after 6 months.

    Dont know a great deal about cars.

    Any advice greatly accepted. Budget would be in the £12-15k bracket. Could go slightly further.

    How about a D3 like this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3504101.htm

    5 series is a bit of a whale and an Audi is just a glorified Skoda.

    Why would you buy an A4 when you could have this;

    Unless you need alot of space not much point in the 5 when you could get a really nice 3 series coupe for similar money.

    A5s should be possible in that budget.

    Is that the bi-turbo one?
    I love those cars and considered buying one but was advised against it by someone that had one. it absolutely ate the rear tyres off it and he was not what you would call a hard driver.
    Cost him a few grand over the 18 months he owned it on tyres alone.:eek:

    I purchased an a5 a couple of weeks ago and I just love it came from a 5 series.
    Decent mpg cheap tax and it's a stunning looking car IMO

    Something with a manual gearbox and a petrol engine, 2 seats and distinctly lacking bells and whistles such as bluetooth, iphone connectors and whatever the latest safety fad is
