Depth of sand for arena

Hi, currently constructing arena 40m x 20m & wondering what depth of sand would be ideal. I don't want it to be too deep. There won't be an awful lot of traffic on it just schooling 2 horses. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly apreciated as everyone I ask who is in the business of selling the sand tells me…

Throw in maybe 8 or 10 loads. If you think you need more after a few months you can always get it.

I would recommend 7-8ins of sand in the arena
