Locked USB stick

A friend just asked me if I could help him with a usb stick he got as a present. He tells me that when he got it he just took it out of the packet and threw away the papers that came with it.It seems that he locked it and has no idea what the login is for it (does not even remember locking it). When I look at it in explorer it registers as a cd drive and only shows a dll and login.exe file the discription of the exe file says it is TODO: <文件说明>. The disc is write protected and I have tried formatting it in dos/ safe mode/ and using a low level formatter. None of these methods worked, any ideas on another way which I can format it would be much appreciated. I know it seems like a lot of trouble to go to for a usb stick but this particular one has an expensive housing.
    Thanks Pat..

    whats the model ,make ,manufacturer,
is there a label on it,
some usb sticks are in a special format.IS there an lock, on,off switch on it.this is to stop data being lost, overwritten, like sdmicro adaptors have on off switch.
click on my computer, insert usb stick,

on my old usbstick, 2 drives would show up,

e, f, e was a virtual boot drive, cd drive, could not be written to,or formatted,or deleted,
f was empty ,write to drive,ie normal usb drive,writeable.950meg approx
,it would take bout 3 mins for both drives to loadup.
Try it in another pc.it may be no loading up fully on your pc.

No there is not a switch on it. It is the same on any PC the dirve actually shows up as being only 650k. I am assuming that the sofeware package that has it locked is also hiding the true size of the drive.
