For peace of mind (& avoidance of narky comments), stick with Saorview approved.

    Digihome only have 1 approved model & it's a 19".

could i buy a saorview set top box and then use it with this ok? it has pretty good specs so i wouldnt mind buying it and having to put a box with it

 They're absolute bare bones spec (no trouble using a STB though, if that's what you want).

they have media playing through usb which is what i want. seems to be difficult to find a tv that can play films and not just view photos through the usb. i dont know what it doesnt have compared to a higher priced tv, nothing that id need anyway afaik

    They are very poor TVs
LG TVs and many others will play media files.

Better to get Saorview approved TV and a decent media player rather than a poor TV that has limited Media Playback and is really only a HDMI monitor needing a setbox.

I think that all TVs sold in Currys in 2012 are generally Saorview compliant. They have pulled the mpeg2 muck off the shelves.

A Digihome is more than likely a Vestel and more than likely identical to a Walker !!!!

Same applies to Alba (Argos) , Bush, Digihome, Goodmans, Hitachi, Sharp and Technika (Tesco) in many cases.

Another supplier of own brand stuff is Hylab, some of these Bush Alba Technika Digihome pick a noname yourself may start to ship Hylab gear as own brand but no Hylab gear has been thru certification at this time.
