Redundancy/Notice.

Following a statutory period of consultation, my O/H recieved by post, notice of redundancy.
This has been on the cards for some time, and was expected. Previously the Co. stated that 3 months notice would be given, and a recent Memo mentioned 2 months.
My question is the ''letter'' gives no time frame, merely notice of Redundancy. It states that she will be paid for any period where she is not expected to work, within the notice period, but is this for 3 or 2 months, or at all, as the ''letter'' mentions no time.
In addition you can be paid ''tax free'' in lieu of notice, so it has implications on her final pay cheque.
    Any observations welcome.
