Leaving one job to start another one

    Hi all

I have just left one job to start another job. I just finished up yesterday, I got home to find out that my new employer changed their mind and they now want me to start in July. Can I claim benefits in the meantime? I cannot go back to my old job

Any advice would mean a lot.

You can try,you should have a letter from your new employer explaining what's happening (to try and avoid the 9 week penalty for leaving a job)bring your P45,id,proof of address.(bill in your name or similar)

I had a bad experience previously with the SW, I took two months for them to pay me and they back dated my claim to the completely wrong date. Would it just be better to go in and say my contract ran out? I can only imagine how long it would take by complicating the claim
