    Hi all,

Sorry i did a search and couldn't any info on the below:

I live in Europe and have been using my Sky box now for 7 years.
    Have an Irish Subscription.

Im looking to upgrade my box to Sky HD +. So my question is will it work if i get the box from a friend at home and install here in Luxembourg and with my current card will it work.

Does the box and card need to be twinned?

    Many Thanks for looking

If its working for you now there's no reason for it not to if you change the box afaik.

You will have to ring Sky to have the card paired with the box.

Am thinking of upgrading to Sky+ HD too. Can you just buy a new box in Ireland (without installation) or do I have to get a secondhand one from Ebay?

    Many thanks for your help,
    Stephen

If you have the right cabling in then you can buy the box anywhere and ring Sky to have it paired with the card. You will of course have to pay the additional €15/month Sky sub to avail of the HD channels and needless to say have a HD TV. :)

Forgot to say that there are normally some good deals on boxes on Adverts.ie

Also make sure you turn off visibility to your number when calling $ky. They do not approve using an Irish card in another country.

Always do this when ringing them - thanks guys for all the help.

Okay, that's enough discussing trying to break Sky's T&Cs.
