Bog standard 00 polo 1L in good enough nick, 95k. Don't have a service history have the manual, orignal wheel barrow spare, wheel brace, jack etc. Bad points has a scrape from the drivers door to the petrol tank, laquer has bubbled, come away on two spots on the roof, any fix for this apart from a respray?

Always serviced on time, new brakes, will come with atleast 9 months tax and fresh nct.

How much petrol is in it??

I'd put it up for a grand and see if anyone bites at that but you will probably get about 500 for it.

Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it!!

    Can you post a pic?

Of the paint damage or the car itself?

People can ask wtever they want but what they actually get is another thing.

Polos are a good seller tho and with the tax and fresh nct it should be saleable if its tidy enough.

How much do you think its worth and what would you be happy to take for it?

Well considering the mileage on it, the facct that is would have a fresh nct and and a lot of tax on it I would want atleast 1100k for it, I think that is reasonable, let me be clear apart from the issues with the paint it is perfect.

Both , take one of the car and a close-up of the damage.
All 12 yr old cars have damage of some kind , would'nt be a big issue.

I actually don't have the car with me at the moment my father has it to do the brakes, I think I have a pic somewhere of the scrape will see if I can find it.

Car looks exactly like this except it is the three door model.

Well then you should stick it up on donedeal for over a grand and see how many offers you get.

Dont forget, you are a private seller (so no warrenty) and have no service history on the car (no proof of any work ever done on the car).

I doubt anyone is looking for service history on 00' polo from bangornomics bin...

Op, it depends how fast do you want to shift it. Stick it up for 1k eu and see what happens. If no one is biting it then drop lower in a week.

I'm in no rush to sell it, want to change so want to see how much I can get for it.

I think you have your hopes a bit high tbh, id put it up for 11 or 12 first and see if you get any interest, if not after a week you will know. I would say €750-€800 is reasonable

I recently changed the girlfriends car and picked up a 02 megane dynamique 5 door with 90k and new nct which is immaculate for 1k, great deal.

Pity really thought I would get more considering the tax and nct, will throw it up for 1400 when the time comes and see how much I get for it. Still it's better than what I would get on a trade in anyway.

When yo say a trade in are you looking to spend a few quid and get a newer car? If so you could flog your car and get a discount off the new car and both together could work out a fair bit more than the €1100 you hope to get

Hmm never thought of that, only looking to spend around 3k but will be buying private so there is always room for negotiating.

Sold my sister's 00 Lupo 2 years ago, the body work was rough to say the least and the sunroof didn't work but it was driving well, had 2 years NCT on it and a bit of tax. Asked for €850 and got €800 for it after plenty of interest.

I would not even bother trading in a 12 year old car, it is worth nothing to a dealer as there would be little or no profit to be made on cars of that age for them considering they have to clean, service it and give a warranty. It also gives you the disadvantage of not being able to buy the newer car at a straight deal discount.

My father wanted me to trade it in but I knew I would get nothing for it so said feck it will, do what has to be done and throw it up on donedeal. Only thing is NCT isn't out until November, so am torn between selling it during with a few months nct and a years tax, in a few months down the line when it will have fresh NCT and around 9 months tax.
