Good books on 'hell' & medieval

Can anyone recommend any good books on medieval Dublin and also on any on 'hell' particularly the colourful history of christchurch/ fishamble street/ copper alley etc

Im looking for books that tell the stories of theses colourful areas and the characters. Its mainly the people and the events I am interested in.

Is there anything in "Me Jewel and Darling Dublin". It's a light book but it might give you pointers towards what else you might look up. There is a book in Irish about Dublin that ends in 1803 but the name of it escapes me. I have it somewhere at home.

Good idea ive been meaning to read that, I loved Éamonn Mac Thomáis old Dublin history programs.

you might still be able to catch the programme Manchan did on TG4 under the title 'ce a chonaigh i mo theachsa'. I also started a thread on Dorchas kelly.
