    Hey,

I was thinking of starting the Education degree in Business, Accounting and Religion in St. Pat's Thurles.

I know the job situation at the moment is terrible, but I really think I'd like to go into teaching. I'd be finishing the degree in 2016, so the job situation may have improved a bit, but if not I could probably teach abroad for a few years anyway (that is possible, right?)

I was just wondering would it be possible to get a job with the combination of business and religion or is it just too weird of a combination?

    Thanks a lot everyone

    :)

Teaching prospects of any kind are quite dire at the moment. Full-time hours are hard to come by, even for in-demand subjects like Maths, Gaeilge, Science etc.

However, if you are dead set on teaching, that particular degree is a good choice because no H.Dip/PGDE/PDE is necessary afterwards - this is great because it's tough to get into AND quite costly!

Thanks for your reply. :) See I'm choosing between that course and event management, and both would have fairly bad prospects at the moment, so I'm not really sure what to do!
