Abbey radiators in limerick, the one on micksgarage doesn't seem outrageously expensive though.

I'm all sorted for heated towel rails, but will check them out.
    Will also check Abbey Radiators.

My cousin ordered one threw a Motorfactors very recently for his Z3, got the coolant bottle with it and it was as cheap as the rest.

Hows about this with change from 120euro all in, including 48hr delivery, 2 year warranty (assuming yours is a manual)

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/MAZDA-MX-5-1-6-1-8-1998-2005-CAR-RADIATOR-NEW-/290647381134?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43abef148e

Used him for my MR2 radiator...not a bother with it 2 months later.

Actually went to a breakers in Limerick today and they did have a rad from a '99 MX5 for me.
It was from a 1.8 (She has a 1.6) and the plastic tank is cracked.
Due to it being damaged I got it for nothing (now that's a bargain).
Luckily enough it is identical to the 1.6 rad and the guy told me I can go to a radiator crowd in Limerick (Whose name I have completely forgotten), where they will be able to take the core from the damaged rad and the plastic bits from her cruddy rad and make a one working unit out of the two.
    Total outlay so far: E0.
How much to make a radiator sandwich? Only time will tell.

Right, been to Abbey Radiators with my knackered rad and another rad, which looked fine, but turned out to be blocked, but since i paid nothing for it, it was worth a try.
New rad is on order and will arrive Tuesday, possibly Wednesday, depending where he can source it from. Looking at around E130 all in, so not too bad, but still, E130 is a hit I could do without at the moment.
Meanwhile I have removed the thermostat to aid cooling, but it only works up to a degree.
The only way to keep the car from boiling at the moment is to whack the heat up to max and the fan to about two.
I'm melting (thank Christ it's a convertible), but at least the car isn't anymore. Instead of slowly heading north, the temperature gauge sits smack bang in the middle.
On the plus side I can report the heater in the MX5 is working at maximum efficiency, I am certainly not cold.

Right, the conclusion (hopefully) of the saga.

Out with the cruddy and old:

And in with the shiny and new:

Drove into town and back, before it would always overheat, now the needle stays just below the halfway mark.
That's a new waterpump, new thermostat and radiator.
Thermostat from Mazda was quoted at €55, got one from Munster Car Parts for €15.
