I bought a 2006 toyota avensis with built in sat nav. I accidentally changed the language to German, and have no idea how to change it back, since i am unfamiliar with the settings and they are now in another language.

Can someone please tell me how to change the language back to english? Thanks for reading.

Is it the pre facelift or facelift model, one has it at the top of the dash, one has it in the radio

Ouch, I know the other one of course!

Try pressing the right hand knob until "sprache" comes up, if it does, turn the knob anti clockwise and hopefully it'll change back.

The menu button might throw something up

I wonder if you disconnect the battery, would it default back to English?

Does taking the DVD out default the settings?

Can you give me a model number as I have one and if they're the same I will guide you through.

If it is then it's pretty easy.

When the Sat Nav starts, you get the warning message about not driving into rivers etc.... On the right is the "I agree" button on the screen and the left should be "GB" with a union Jack.... or in your case "D" with the german flag. Hit that button and hit GB.

Have you the tns300 so? With the flip screen? The OP has the basic one using the monochrome radio display

Fancy. They're seriously expensive as accessory. Had one like yours as my desk radio when I worked in Toyota ;)
