wireless connectivity on laptop

My laptop cannot find my home wireless network. It can find the wireless of nearby houses. My wireless is working on my phone. This happened just after the power went off briefly. Any suggestions? Also there is no mac address filtering on my router.

What router? Wifi/wlan light appearing?
If not, log into your router (usually http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.254) and locate the wireless settings, and ensure wireless is enabled.
