What type of student are you? Do you want to keep the head down or do you mind the noise?

Strawberry hill is kind of half way between id say but theres a chance you could be next door to wasters who dont give a ****.

Answer that question and i could suggest somewhere. I also assume your in college in town aswell.

It's probably easier to tell you the noisy/traditional student areas to avoid rather than which areas would be quiet. The main student accommodation areas are Manor Village / Riverwalk, Lisduggan, Manor Street, Poleberry, Railway Square and Templars Hall. It all depends on your budget really and who you're going to share with. I'd definitely try and avoid the places listed above though.

Maybe a housing estate near enough to the college like Hillview or Ursaline Court might be the best place. They're kind of traditional family housing estates with the odd student house, but there's never really much trouble there what what I've heard.

I was in the same boat last september. Canada Square was lovely and quiet, and central.

I am doing nursing and heading into 3rd year so will be on placement alot of the time need my sleep!
Am in the cork rd. campus but drive so thats not a problem. Have lived in Riverwalk last 2 years found it grand just want a change but feel riverwalk is a rip off on electricity also. Is electricity the only extra bill in Strawberry hill or are there others do you know?

Been in Railway for my 1st year in college in the main college lovely Accommodation and in a great spot with all nightclubs only 2 mins away and tesco and storm next door

Its the 3 bed ones from Calicon

My only problem was with my landlord to deal with any problems.

My ex roommates blow up the owen and it took them 3 weeks to get a new owen in and they where trying to blame me on it even do i wasn't even there when i happened

Signed me up for the ESB bill and signed my name with out telling me and only found out when i got a latter for ESB in my name and it cost about 250 euro every 2 months in ESB there when me and the housemate where only there for 4 days each

Ringing me nearly everyday to view my apartment to show to some one. Why did it had to be mine all the time ?

Front door lock fell off the door took 3 days with no lock on the door before they fixed it.

Mold in my bathroom in which covered every wall of the room and the windows in my bedroom still has not been cleaned

Have called me every day this month saying to me on the phone why haven't i moved out yet ?. My lease says 31st of May

Railway great place to stay but the only problems where the landlord never going to deal with Calicon again after this.

Refusing to give my deposit back after they make sure everything is working but your in my apartment everyday to show to some one and you can see what is working and not. Then told after we see everything is ok it will be 4 weeks after that before they send my money back out WTH

Anyway lovely place to leave its quite clean and ok safe wise but only problem is the landlord EG Calicon

I'd avoid Strawberry Hill like the plague if I'm honest. A lad in my course lives there, he's the biggest drug dealer around. I went to a session in his place before (against my better judgement) and everyone was doped off their heads, people were openly snorting cocaine, it was mental! It has a terrible rep around Waterford for drugs so I wouldn't even go there as a last resort tbh.

I lived in Manor Village last year and while there were a lot of rules and inspections and it was really sociable and safe. I'd recommend it to a first year for sure. Riverwalk is grand too, just a bit of a distance from both the campuses. Manor is only a 5-10 minute walk from all the nightclubs and if your walking in a group its a safe, straight road and can be done at night, saving money on taxis which you'd need from Riverwalk.

I was in Strawberry Hills for a few months this year and I liked it a lot, okay the place was a small bit dirty when I moved in but overall I liked it a lot. I was on the top floor which is meant to be the best out of the 3 floors. The people in the apartment below me were into drugs (only hash I think), but they didn't make much noise or cause me any trouble.

One thing people don't mention about Manor Village (I lived there for 2 years) and Riverwalk, is that the internet there is about as good as dial-up. Other than that I did like Manor village.

Jesus, the internet in Manor broke my heart!!!

Best thing about the place was the pool tables. Good times!!
