    Hi All!

Hoping to get some answers from ye.
Daughter/Her Partner/and baby on JSA. Payment is split or divided. He has not worked since losing his apprenticeship a year and a half ago.

Has been offered and accepted 2 full days a week, part time work and is almost certain to go to 3 days or more in a months time. He duly went to the dole office and advised them, and was told their combined dole will be SUSPENDED for a month while the SW officer works out how much they will be due. What are they supposed to live on, how can he even get to the job, its a 30 mile journey and they hope to rent a house closer to the work. Is there any appeal? And how will their payment calculated vs his income? By the way, its not much over the minimum wage.

And to throw another spanner in the works, daughter is going shortly for an interview to do a course on the Back to Education Allowance Scheme, will his work not allow her to get it?

    Thanks in advance

    SS

You can be paid swa while waiting. Could your partner make a claim? The the kids would be on her claim. His average wages would be taken as means against her claim. The only thing is, it would take ages for a new jsa claim to come through.
