Pay and Play?

Can someone explain to me what is meant by Pay and Play membership option.

Basically I am looking to join a club in order to get a handicap however I dont want to pay a fortune to do so. There is a golf club near me that offers membership which is written as follows:

€99.99 Pay and Play Membership (Pay €15 Green Fees)

Can someone explain what this actually means, is it €99.99 up front and then €15 anytime I play?

I would probably join at €99.99 play 3 rounds and get the handicap then play elsewhere paying green fees on courses closer to my house and where my friends play.

You have it yourself, you would have to play 3 comps there a year to keep a active handicap but that is what they mean by pay and play. Or otherwise know as pay 99.99 for a handicap.

Yes, and if all you're looking for is a handicap then that's a good deal for you.

So basically its €99 to join then free to play whenever I want and €15 for competitions?

Plus I have to play 3 rounds when I join to get the H'cap

You answered your own question yourself. It's €99.99 upfront and €15 after that to play. They may have a special rate for competitions, you'll have to ask them that.

Got you now, thanks for that.
