Off Books

Hey! I am a final year Business and Politics student and i'm just looking for some advice as i have recently been permitted to go "off books" for medical reasons and repeat my finals in 2013... but my tutor is a bit clueless as to specific details of what exactly going off books entails.

For instance, if you are "off books" do you still have access to the library or have a student card? Do I have to re-register for the following year? Also, will I still have access to my email account/portal etc (taking into account that as a final year student they are due to delete my account in early July)? Health centre/sports centre etc?

Also if anyone has any advice as to how I should approach the year I would greatly appreciate it as I feel a bit disheartened about the whole thing atm. I had already planned to go Volunteering for 3-4 months in Sept, but i'm not sure if I should postpone these plans now. Thanks :)

You won't have a student card. You won't generally have access to the library, but I think you can get a guest admission if a lecturer writes a letter for you (you won't be able to borrow books). You won't have access to the network, wifi, lab computers, WebCT etc., although you should still have access to myzone (that's a Google account which is yours for life as I understand it). You won't have access to the health centre. You won't have access to the sports centre (unless you pay like I believe members of the public can).

Being off books means you're not a registered student so you don't have any access to the services students do. Strictly speaking you're not supposed to go to classes either, but your lecturers will allow (even encourage/force) you to.
