Would love to go aswell, but don't have the money (or ability) to justify an upgrade yet.

My buddy has the new TM gear, but he's a lefty, so i can't even try his set

I've never hit an R11 or RBZ driver, would have been a good chance to try it

Having never been to a demo day before I'm wondering how they work.

Is it simply a case of showing up and hitting away or do you have to register before showing up?

You have to book a time I think. Has anyone here been to one?

You have to register, and as far as i know you are "obliged" to buy on the day aswell.

I rang about trying out the R11 driver last summer and i was told "one does not simply try out the clubs on demo day, you are going there to buy"

My impression was that you go there to hit a few balls, see if you like the gear and then decide if you make the splurge or not. These seem to be for folks who have their mind made up already and just want to get custom fitted.

That's just ridiculous. And how do they oblige you to buy ? Take yuor credit card at the start ?

I've no idea, but i wasn't impressed with that attitude by the pro.

I guess they are trying to weed out the tyre kickers, just putting down the afternoon. But they should let the clubs do the talking, if your hitting them brilliantly, you'll convince yourself to buy them.

I did a Callaway fitting in Fota a while back and I definitely did not feel "obliged" to buy anything. I hit a number of clubs and the guy told me all the specifications I should have. When we were finished, he said the Club Pro will have all your specs and you can get them off him. Catch is, you have to pay €50 to the club pro to get them. But if you have a good memory, which I dont, you might remember them.

Hello folks, Denis here from Fota Island Resort.

The TaylorMade Demo Day was a huge success, so much so, it was fully booked out! All involved were delighted to have the opportunity to test out new equipment such as the R11 and RBZ drivers, and the glorious weather added to the great occasion.

All Demo Days are free of charge at Fota Island Resort, and we certainly do not ask for any credit card details at any stage.

However, as you would expect, due to the immense interest in these days, one must phone the Pro Shop in advance to book a slot on the day.

The next Demo Day at Fota Island Resort is being held by Titleist on Monday 18th June between the hours of 2pm and 7pm. Titleist will have the latest technology in the form of a Launch Monitor, along with other aids to help you improve your game.

Let me reiterate that these days are always very popular here at the Resort so one will need to book early. As it is a Demo Day, once the session is over no one is obliged to buy any of the equipment which they have used. However, we do find that people are so impressed by improvements to their game on the day, they cannot wait to get their hands on the clubs again.

If one cannot make a Demo Day, we provide custom fitting here at Fota Island Resort. One can simply call 021 488 3700 and speak to one of our Professionals, Kevin, Brian, or Ian, they would more then happy to provide one with any information required.

If one would like to be added to our mailing list, which provides information with regard to the upcoming golfing events at Fota Island Resort, please contact me on DBuckley@fotaisland.ie and I would be delighted to include you.

If one has any further questions please do not hesitate in contacting me.

    Denis
