CAO figures for applications to UCD 2012

    I came across this page from the UCD site giving statistics from the CAO for 2012 based on the increase/decrease in the number of people applying for each specific degree. I realise that it's a few months old and the change of mind could have an implication in the details, but nonetheless it's probably the best indication of what the points might be like in August.

    Well the primary indication is many students are now aiming towards area with greater job prospects:

    "The increase in first preferences is across all subject areas with very strong demand in medicine, veterinary medicine, economics & finance, commerce international, science and computer science."

    Those figures are only for first preferences though, many students are overly optimistic and wont get their first preference so it's not a definite indicator.
