Couple more wins - then get Dana on the blower and get the UFC back in town!! Unless it thinks it's too big for us now :(

Looked him up on Sherdog for his height - 6'1''? really? that's brilliant and he doesn't look light for that at all and still only 24! unbelievable potential, well not that he hasn't kicked arse already but like he's only bleeding 24!!... more Irish Fighters should get training vids like this done coz it really gives an insight. He must cut loads for fights.. he must stall around close to 200 lb between camps (if that ever happens)

Great potential. Ready for the UFC? I dunno i'd like to see him have a few more tough fights!

I think the Bielkheden fight will tell us a lot about where he is. The guy's no joke and a hell of a scalp!

deffo this guys a challenge. looked him up, was lookin for fancy subs or a tendency for quick KO's or anything to quickly characterize his game, but actually he's basically a very experienced tough dude. Lost 6 decisions and lost by subs only 2 times in 27 fights? That's pretty good in all fairness, but nobody has knocked him out ever or even finished him with strikes ever in 10 years and 27 fights!! On the other hand he's dished out strike finishes 7 times himself incl a couple KO's so he can connect and finish but saying that it seems BJJ is his biggest asset so good strong defensive wrestling will be needed for this dude. His cardio is obviously good having gone the distance 11 times which would give him confidence to be able to do that again obviously if needed and he's certainly not gettin old for a fighter yet at 32 so this guy can last. I'd say he needs putting away IMO but superior wrestle and strike could get a unanimous also but I wouldn't plan on it. Heavy hands are needed for this dude! and don't let him work from the top, he needs punishing in the clinch on the cage to stop his BJJ brain from tickin over... going to be a verrrry interesting duel this one!

Holy Crap he fought Jacare in ADCC IN 2005... lost to a well worked Americana... either way wow

Not sure of his exact weight, will ask next time, but he doesn't look 15lbs smaller than Chris Fields who is 185lbs

Pretty sure Cathal walks around about the 90kg mark, prob about as big a Welterweight as you will see. Chris is about 3 inches taller, very diff builds
