My sister got one of these as a gift but it seems pretty pointless because you have to be in the states and have a U.S billing address in order to be able to buy the E Books online.

    Is there anyway around this?

    Seems like such a waste..

depending on what version of the nook you have, they can be rooted and there are custom android firmwares for it to make it into a full blown android tablet (albeit with an e-ink screen, so no angry birds). :)

have you tried calibre ebook manager to see if you can install ebooks on it manually?
