travelling with epilepsy

Hi all, I was diagnosed with epilepsy about 3 years ago. I rarely have seizures maybe about once a year. Thing is I'm currently on medication; epilem 300mg I think. I'm interested in going travelling/moving abroad for a while at least. The thing is I'm not sure how I would go about getting the necessary medication when abroad, if I moved somewhere permanently I know that I would just have to contact a doctor in the area or something along those lines but if I wanted to travel what could I do? Is travelling like this out of the question if I need access to medication?

Provided you've got an address to have your medication posted to you should have no problem. Like yourself I have seizures approx once a year but I went and taught in Abu Dhabi for a year and had my medication posted to me monthly from Ireland. Customs opened it every time but never interfered with it.

I went travelling for three months, and brought enough with me.
I was surprised I got into the US with all of them. I was on 3 diff AEDs at the time, but never needed to show a doctors letter.
    Good luck x

Hi, can you tell me what medication you were taking and how much it cost you a month to post?
    Thanks

I think the doctors note requirement comes down to what is restricted in that country?
