Came across donedeal.ie today and considered buying a iPhone, but then i realised that u cant purchase them via the website, only deal with the seller one to one.

My question is how do u usually pay (paypal) and has anyone had any problems buying a product?
im kinda disappointed u cant pay via the website cause if u could there is a third party involved and u'd feel some sorta security with ur money, rather giving it to a stranger and hoping u'll get it!

P.s any other good Irish websites for buying a iPhone, 3g + 3gs particularly?

Steer clear if you have misgivings..
    Try play.com or adverts.

Meet up in person with the seller and inspect the phone before handing over your cash, that's generally the way deals are done with done deal.

Like anything got online there's some risk here is some advice

If getting phone as unlock confirm is official apple unlock not done on Jailbroken iphone via Cydia with ultrasn0w.

Search in here I recall reading lots of bad reports (scams) from places like Donedeal, Gumtree, Buyandsell, etc some of the advice given was to try to get some type of receipt (even done by you) that includes his name, passport details, etc also consider collecting from sellers house, if there's any problems you know where they live.

You will heard of lots of cases that phone gets blocked because was reported as stolen and claimed on insurance or if was bought in contract and stopped paying the bill they got blocked. To test at time of purchase insert a sim and make calls and/or text.

If you go ahead check if the gps works before buying, as above also check the sim usage.
<a work around for the newer firmware upgrades is to upgrade to ipad baseband = No GPS>

The iphone can get block if it was stolen. They still work outside Ireland.

Unless you know what you are doing I would steer clear of 2nd hand ones.
