Worn Cleats

    Hey all,

Started with cleats in January of this year. My bike has seen pretty light usage since then, probably less than 200 miles done. However, the plastic plate that's bolted to the bottom of the cleat shoe (the cleat itself maybe?) has become very worn down.

I'm wondering whether this is normal and how much it'd cost to replace then. I don't think I spend an unnaturally large amount of time walking around in cleats.

    Any help would be awesome.

    Paul

about 20-25 euro for new ones
the more you walk the more they wear

Some pedal/cleat combinations come with covers, such as these Look Keo ones

I slip them in the back pocket when riding and put them back on the shoes as soon as I get off the bike - the cleats last many thousands of km that way (and the covers are very sturdy also)

    +1 for these covers,
As mentioned, slip into back pocket when riding,
If you stop, simply slip them on, couple seconds max.....
Highly recommended to extend life of cleats

They are specific to Look Keo cleats

There's a selection covering, amongst others, Shimano SPD-SL here
