Here is what NK management posted today on twitter

Host Ryan Tubridy has launched the countdown to the Late Late Show's 50th anniversary celebrations, which will take place on Friday June 1 on RTÉ One at 9.30pm in front of a very special audience.

Tubridy - "Looking at the guest list, it's a showcase for how wonderful this country can be"

The audience on the night will be made up of people "who have made the Late Late Show the most successful and watched chat show in Ireland over the last 50 years", with guests including Liam Neeson, Imelda May, Horslips, Tommy Tiernan and Daniel O'Donnell.

Also joining host Tubridy to discuss Late Late history will be former presenters Gay Byrne and Pat Kenny.

Tubridy said: "I never thought when I was a young boy that I would grow up to become the presenter of the Late Late Show. And I particularly didn't think that I'd host the 50th anniversary. It's an enormous privilege and honour I'd never underestimate. And I hope to do my predecessors and above all the audience proud."

Asked by RTÉ TEN, what he could promise viewers at home on the night, Tubridy replied: "I'm promising them a lot of high end music; I think the music is going to be the star of the show in some respects. We're going to make them laugh - sometimes intentionally. It's going to be a really good mix of a bit of Hollywood, bit of music, bit of comedy and a lot of Irish. I think, looking at the guest list, it's a showcase for how wonderful this country can be."

When asked about rumours of a Busby Berkeley-style song and dance number involving himself and former hosts Byrne and Kenny in top hats and tails, Tubridy replied between giggles: "That's the first I've heard of that rumour. But do you know what? It's not a bad idea! But I don't know... I mean, I can't hold a note so I don't want to upset Pat and Gay! I'm sure they're pretty good at vaudeville! I'll have to look into that!"

On a more serious note, executive producer Michael Kealy added: "Over the last 50 years the Late Late Show has been at the very heart of Ireland's social, political and cultural life. The 50th anniversary programme will look back over the last half century in the company of many of the people and artists who've launched their careers on the show and who have gone on to national and international success. This show has been in planning for many months and I think it is shaping up to be something really special.
