    Folks,

As the year is approaching it's half way point, is it normal for clubs to start offering half sub for the 'annual' fee, or indeed for new members to start asking for half sub fee?

I'm interested in a joining a new club but paying full whack for the annual fee would seem like a waste of money.

The "usual season" for golf is the 7 months, April - October.
The main part of this is the 5 months, May - September where the grass is growing and the days are long (and the weather is reasonable!) so evening golf is possible etc.
3 weeks of this peak season is all that has passed... Some clubs might do a pro-rata but looking for half price is a bit premature IMO.

Not all clubs run their subs from Jan to Jan either with others from Apr to Apr for instance so if you were to join one of those you'd effectively be missing out on 2 months membership by joining now.
