    Hi Folks,

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

I have a samsung galaxy s & in the car a I've a parrot ck3100 LCD handsfree system. I was sitting in the car the other day listening (via headphones) to some stuff that I had downloaded onto the phone and I wondered if I could stream it through the parrot? So I tried sending & sharing files via bluetooth & nothing worked. (mp3 failed). Just wondering if it can be done? I do a lot of commuting & I listen to a lot of audiobooks so it would be great if I could listen without the headphones.
    Thanks in advance.
    Eamor

Try pairing it with the other bluetooth device.

I don't have the same model or the same Bluetooth system in my car but this should get you on the right track.

Hit Menu - Settings - Bluetooth
Then Search for devices. Your Parrot will need to be discoverable (it probably is by default). If the phone finds it it'll ask for a password. Normally four zeros works.

Once it pairs, any audio you play on your phone will come out the speakers on your Parrot. In future when your phone is near the Parrot they'll pair automatically if Bluetooth is on.

Streaming audio is only available on later versions of the parrots.
There's an app you can get that makes the carkit think the audio is a phone call.
I will check in play store

thanks for the replies folks...Obviously I would have paired the devices before coming on here :D but I think billbond is right. Its probably just the fact that the parrot is an older version.

yeah streaming works fine on the next version of the parrots.
Try those apps or have a look on the parrot UK forum under your parrot type

I have a later version of the Parrot and there's a "Bluetooth" audio option - when I set the audiobook to playing and switch that on it plays through the car speakers. Only problem is, if someone rings me, the phone call takes priority (reasonably) and pauses the audiobook. I then can't unpause it without messing with the phone (which I can't/won't do at 120kph). There may be a way to do it through the Parrot, I just haven't figured it out.

My Parrot also has a line in (like a headphone jack) - does yours have anything like that? Or a line in point?

You have the later mki parrot series.
You should update the firmware on it so that the audio resumes after a phone call,
See the downloads section in the parrot website
    http://www.parrot.com/uk/support

The ck series does not have a line in

Firmware is only a month old (but will take a look in a minute to see if there's an update). I think in my case the problem is with the Audible app. Even in normal operation it pauses itself automatically when a phone call comes in, and you have to press play on the phone to resume. The play/pause button on the Parrot doesn't seem to control the Audible app, though it does control music apps.

Edit: Actually, I don't know how old the firmware is, but I only updated it from the website a month ago.

Sounds like a fault of the app alright

Sorry I should have been clearer. I was parked up sitting in my car . I normally have a few 'books' on the go. 1 in the car (physical audiobook ), 1 on phone & 1 actual paper book beside the bed. I'm half way through storm of swords on the phone & I really wanted to continue listening to it whilst driving. (but I didn't ;) ) Thanks again folks.
