Can someone post me a link to a recording of this species as I want to check a site next week where I suspect some of these birds are attempting to hold territory and possibly nest?? - Cheers in advance:)

I think using a tape lure on Quail is illegal BN and could interfer with breeding. You better check with BWI or NPWS first.

I don't want to lure them Mr T - I just want a good recording to get my ear in if they start calling in the area where I suspect they are present. Its very hard to get a visual ID of this species and I don't want to disturb them in case they are breeding.

    Whick-wickwick.

Over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Seems very early to look for them here, I always think of them as a June/July bird, but I haven't heard one for years.

The BWI Carlow Branch had a outing to Boora last month and reported hearing one there.

It would be great if the quail set up a population there. They could be better protected there.
