India - Minimum packing - Monsoon Season!

So I'm 10 days away! Myself and one friend have gotten all our shots, cried over the weather forecast and are ready to go! We're flying into Delhi on the 1st and are heading all the way south to the backwaters of Kerala and then working our way up the west coast and then crossing over to the north-east for the last two weeks of our two month trip.

We've decided to do it minimally and have a 35L backpack each. So I'm looking for ANY and ALL advice on Indian travel in general and any help with our minimal packing list from past Indian adventurers. Cheers guys.

You can buy clothes/flip flops easily when you get there, but here are a few tips:
Rubber/waterproof flip flops. If they get wet you won't have to worry about them.
Loose loose clothing. I don't know if you are male or female but it's handy to have a long skirt/trousers and long sleeve shirt just in case you have to cover up.

The only thing I would bring with you is mosquito repellent - Get the strongest you can get. The stuff the locals get seems to be useless. I used (I think) Jungle Formula from Boots. The water is a breeding area for them.

(Tescos) Deo/ freshning wipes are handy too when you are on the go.

Monsoon is sometimes the best time to visit areas. Dried out mountains can be a bit boring.

Have a look at the Indiamike forum OP - there is even a packing section! Just back from India - bring LOTS of mosquito spray and a cloths line!
