D300 Gone Nuts :-(

    Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody came across this before.

On Thursday night I was taking shots at a Road Race and my camera (Nikon D300) took on a mind of its own. As I was shooting it was literally jumping to different settings - right across the board. P, S, A, M, ISO, Focus points, the lot.
A week previous the camera got a little damp (Shooting in the rain but using a plastic cover) - more condensation than directly wet. I used it in between though, another road race and about 600 shots, without any problem.

I've since done a re-set and reloaded the same firmware and everything seems to be ok now. The camera is about 3/4 years old and has roughly 45,000 shots done.

A Canon user told me that he once had something similar happen and he just removed the internal (clock) battery and it sorted it. Checking online though and can't seem to find where to locate this on the Nikon.

Just curious as to whether anybody has encountered this problem and if they managed to resolve it permanently.

    Cheers..

Had a lot ofcondensation on my D3 the other morning. 2 days later went to shoot photos during the day, no worries. Later that night the shutter wouldn't fire. Tried D and G type lenses. Not firing. Tried live view and the mirror popped up and fired a shot. Did resets, battery out and after a few mins it was A1 again. Must have been the condensation previously.
