Doing business paper 2 question 1?

I was just wondering is there anyone else going to do this question? Our business teacher didn't really explain it that well and it is pretty tricky. Is there many people planning to skip this question and what are you studying instead of this question?

I'm skipping it. Just make sure you know your Trading, P+L very well and then you still have a choice of 3 out of 4 for the others.

Yeah doing that and the business documents... love it if marketing, cash flow or wages came up :D

It's the most lenient marked question on the paper, and it's a definite one, so one of the few you will definitely have, so it's easier to prepare for, you get sooo many attempt marks too, so I will give it a shot.

It's not that hard, you just need to know the method, it's the same thing every year. I know plenty of people are afraid of it, we covered it comprehensively in class and there was still a minority planning to do it. You just need to be able to think of what side everything goes on (debit the account that receives, credit the account that gives...) and know the method which becomes very simple with practise. Also it is very, very easy to pick up marks. Honestly, I think there's probably a small minority of people that get A's in Business without doing accounts (though of course, Final Accounts are a little bit more straightforward).

It's a pity your teacher didn't explain it very well, having a good teacher is very important for Accounting, I do it for Leaving Cert and love it but if it hadn't been for the brilliance of my JC teacher, it'd be a different story altogether.

My advice; if you have no clue what to do; don't even attempt it. You would be better off doing the Trading, Profit, Loss and Appropriation Account and Balance Sheet question (Question 3, I think) which is a lot easier to do, imo. And make sure to know your theory, if you decide to go down this route! I plan to do Question 1, but only because I know it quite well and I've practiced many. You could get more marks doing theory rather than doing Question 1, if you have no clue how to do it.

You've been told repeatedly to stop using bold font. Do so again and it'll be an infraction for you.

    And yes, I'm allowed.

You can't tell us what to do!

    We are the future.

I think you'll find that here, I can. I can also warn you that if you question my authority again it'll be a ban. Which I'm about to do. If you question my authority again, it'll be a ban.

Nice to have a solid mod, taking no crap. :)

Anyway, you did business for JC right.. now way you possible have a sample answer to the 2011 (or any year for that matter) of this question lying around I usually attempt it, but never get full marks, we haven't done it in school in ages, if you could take a pic and upload it of a sample 40 marks answer, that'd be great! :)

I have only been told once about that in a PM? I completely forgot though :L But how does once result in repeatedly from a mod? :)
I rechecked my PM before I wrote this to make sure but yep theres only
    one message??

If you'd mind waiting until tomorrow or perhaps later tonight, I'll do it out for you (wrecked now). Probably sounds odd but I really, really love doing accounts :pac: and sure it'll bring back good memories of it balancing in the JC and feeling blissfully happy... :')

I wouldn't close the thread for that. :pac: Errr because it's well-known as the font a moderator uses when they're being serious and acting as a, well, moderator. I mean, I type like this when I'm just being a regular boards user but if you called me a rude name I'd be like banned, paddzdaman. But you didn't so I'll let you off. :P

You've been told on thread numerous times as well. Anyway, s'grand, just don't do it again!

Thank you :) Not odd, I like them when I get them right! :D :P
