New filter?

I got my first tank about two months ago. Got the freshwater starter pack from Seahorse Aquariums. 54litre tank and heater, filter, gravel, etc. Just wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade the filter as it appears to be just a simple and cheap one. It's an AquaEL Fan-1 Filter I think, and just wondering should I upgrade and what are good ones tog et if I do upgrade. Cheers

I'm also thinking of switching from gravel to sand, if that makes any difference

Depends what stock you have in the tank.

An Eheim 2008 internal filter will do the job perfectly, for your size of tank.

25 euro new in most pet stores. (Seahorse,Petstop,Maxi-Zoo etc).

The next size Eheim up from the 2008,would be 32 euro new.

    Regards.

Why do you think you need an upgrade? Are your test results indicating that there's a high amount of ammonia or something?
