Heard about this last night at a local meeting so googled it and seems that plans are in train for this. A great boon to local runners and users of the outdoors if it happens. It is tremendously scenic in parts too.

    Excerpt from: LINK
€40000 will be set aside for the Arklow-Woodenbridge-shillelagh Greenway to help fund the completion of the feasibility report of the Arklow to Shillelagh Cycle and Pedestrian route, which runs mainly along a disused railway line.

There was a railway here in bygone times. And there are sections (like Tinahely) where the old tracks are now walking routes. This plan if it comes together would look to tie it all end to end for cycle / walking access. Hope it happens. I live along the route, as does Kurt Godel.

This is excellent news, was only talking to someone yesterday about finding the old railway route at Woodenbridge, I want to take some pics of the route before its cleared for the greenway.

Good news. Hope it happens. The one down in Mayo has been a huge success.
