Laptop battery.

I was getting a low battery/consider getting a new battery message on my laptop...I replaced charger [that was getting dodgytoo] and got new battery.The battery is on two months old,I am getting the same message.It will charge 100% in about 40 mins,and I get about 20 mins before it dies on me....Could I have got a dodgy new battery? thanks:)

Sounds like a dodgey battery to me, where'd you get it?

I got it from a relation who works in IT......I will be exchanging alright,but reading around google,it seems a common problem.I dont know much/nothing about laptops,so am hoping that something else is not the problem..thanks

Calibrating your laptop battery won't do much at this stage,you going to have order a new one I'm afraid.

It was 100% at 8pm....down to 80 now......At least it will have to be replaced..I hope...Thanks

I let the battery empty completely 3/4 times....Each time it took a little longer to reach 100%...The "Consider replacing your battery" message is now one,and the battery holds it charge for a decent time...Thanks all:)

Is the new battery actually new though. Did the relation just give you a spare that was lying around. Or give you an unused one

The battery was new when I got it about two months ago.
