Do you mean refurbished or rebuilt or are they on a vehicle and need tuning?

Also what type of carbs are they?

Most are simple to rebuild unless the throttle spindle holes are badly worn. Tuning is pretty basic too on the majority of carbs.

I would not use the aforementioned company under pain of death. Charged me twice the estimate and didn't do half what they said they would and the car cut out all the way home. Had to strip it that night myself and sort it properly.

If its a rebuild you need I can recommend www.carbcare.co.uk in the U.K.

Depends on the car also, the guy that's a guru on twin 40's on a Pinto won't have a clue when it comes to a DCOE on a Mini.

Forget Mac's (IMHO) the technical brains in that place left many years ago.

So more to the point, what car & carb(s) are you asking about?

Dozens of places to get carb service kits but Burlens are the ones to go to for complete rebuild kits, won't be cheap though, around €90 per carb if it's HIF44s. Very simple carb to rebuild and the SU section of their website has everything you need to know on line or to download.

There's a bit of a knack to tuning them but a V8 will run sweetly on default settings anyway. No point in doing any of this though if the camshaft is worn or the dizzy is shot. If it's still on points, fit an electronic dizzy from simonbbc (what year is it, early dizzy drives are male). Once you are happy everything is in order then get a proper tune from someone who really knows them, you'll struggle here though, you can't plug a computer in to it!

I found this site very useful when rebuilding the V8 in my 101 - http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/index.php

Had a bad experience there and I wouldn't go back again.
