    Hi Folks,

Am thinking of trading in my car (06 Astra life 91.000KM) for something newer and a diesel.

I was looking at a 2011 megane coupe GT line 7,000KM on it.The garage are offering me 5K for my Astra and I would have to add €13K wit it.

    1.Is that a good deal?

    Or

    2. Would you guys recommend something else???

    Thanks in advance

    Brian

The only way to know if it is a good deal or not is by going to other dealers selling a similar Renault and see how much they want to trade up.

Wouldn't touch a Renault. Stick with either German or Japanese. Volkswagen,Audi,Opel,Nissan,Toyota,Mitsubishi, etc.

This doesn't sound great, can't you get a new megane for around 16k?

I was thinking this, €6k sounds good for the Astra but €19k for the Megane?
    Seems steep to me.

Maybe for a change the OP isn't actually buying Paddy spec though?

A decently kitted Megane would be about that price, no?

Much as I hate base models, I'm basing my comment on 2 facts

    French cars depreciate heavily

Extras make a car more desirable but not worth a huge amount more

The fact that Renault were giving these yokes away on the scrappage scheme mean they'll always be perceived as a bargain basement car.
