I was kind of waiting for them to throw their hook...and they didnt....

That looks more like a Bord Failte ad for Cork than a marketing venture for the airport. Nothing about it's capacity and a lot of shots of budget carriers like Jet2, Wizz and Ryanair. To me it didnt look like it was portraying an airport that is going places. Most of the stats thrown out are ones that Dublin would laugh off and I'm pretty sure they were quoting places that are actually served better by Shannon(Cashel etc). They are competing against Dublin and Shannon for traffic to do with industry. They wont beat Dublin so they have to take on Shannon....and this wouldnt help in that respect.
Most of the companies they quote down there are US firms in pharmaceuticals who would do all their shipping etc through Shannon and Dublin, so are they trying to steal a TA route off Shannon, because they wont get one from Dublin....

Not quite sure what that was in aid of to be honest.....they dont exactly boast a wide route network from Cork and to be honest the fact that subject was not even approached in the video would not have gone unnoticed by investors and over seas business I would imagine. I think a longer sit down was needed to formulate their marketing strategy.
A US company will see this and think "Hmmmm...2 hours by road from the country's major International Airport?" that's pretty good by US standards.
If tourists is the game they didnt attract any as they didnt advertise any routes.

In short they touched on many areas but didnt nail any down....I believe this has failed from a logistic point of view.

    It's interesting but hardly groundbreaking.

The Rock of Cashel is a classic teary eyed aul sod location that american tourists head to. American tourists in the South go to Shannon as that is where the plane lands....All the buses go from Shannon too to the Cliffs, the Ring and all the other places too.

I had a college lecturer who used to work in logistics at Delta. He said they had looked into Cork as a destination but one reason among others they didnt go with it was that between 6-9am there is often low vis in Cork and the aircraft would end up in Shannon anyhow. Is it actually below CAT III in Cork some mornings?

i live near the airport, i can see the old tower right now in fact. it is foggy here pretty often. not heavy fog most of the time but even now visibility is hindered by a light fog

Me too, I have an offer of free accom there and could do with a few trips away!

Looking at the wider site I think this video is primarily aimed at prospective airlines rather than passengers.

The message is that the airport is in a region which has a sufficient local population and enough economic activity (be it tourism or industry) to allow airlines to built profitable routes.

So it won't mention routes already served as airlines will not be as tempted by these.

I think your point about the video being part of an attempt to win a translatlantic route was spot on.

Not sure if it's my computer or the background music is shocking on the video? I had to stop after 2 minutes as it's just irritating and ruins a good song.
