I wonder if someone can help I am trying to find out if USB DVB-T receivers are compatable with French digital tv (TNT i think). Will be in france for some of the euros and was trying to get one of these to work with my laptop. (before anyone asks I won't be able to get to a bar for various reasons out of my control)

Should work once you have the right codecs installed. I believe they use MPEG2 for SD, and MPEG4 for a few HD stations. There are also some channels which are encrypted, so try and find out which channels will be showing the Euros, if they're the encrypted ones, you're out of luck.

I believe there on TF1 and M6 two of the main channels like rte and tv3. So I wouldn't think that they would be encrypted.

Some TNT is encrypted, a Saorview compatible stick will work on Free To Air French channels .

According to wikipedia, TF1 and M6 are both FTA and available in SD and HD. So if you get it working here on Saorview you should be fine.
