I have this posted in the Louth forum too, so mods can delete if you don't like multi-threads.

There is a group of people interested in starting a hackspace/makespace in Drogheda. So far we've had a few meetings and organised a room in Millmount for meetings and workshops.

Our first workshop is on the 26th of May! So if anyone in Louth/Meath has an interest in engineering, electronics, programming, robotics or has an interest in learning come on down and see what we're up to. It's totally free!

    Hi,
Just wondering if there was a minimum age for visitors on Saturday. I have a ten year old who is interested in programming, game making and web design, and I wondered if I could bring him along.
    Thanks

Well there's no set rules or anything yet, but I'm not sure if anyone else of that age will be there. Bring him along anyway and he can see what we're up to and make up his own mind :) Also Coder Dojo is on at 11.30 on Saturday if he's interested ( https://twitter.com/#!/coderdojodrog )

The room will be open from 2-6pm on Saturday 26th May so if anyone is interested head up to Millmount and see what we're about. It's just an informal meet and greet so you won't need to bring anything.

Hope to see you all there!

    Hi Jerdi,

Coder Dojo in Drogheda might be a better option for the moment? :-) Its on in Drogheda every two weeks and highly reccomended for kids interested in getting started in tech. http://coderdojo.com/tag/drogheda/

In saying that just let us know if you want to pop in I'm sure we can arrange something. Also feel free to join our mailing list posted by Cian above. In the future as the project gains interest we will definitely be planning more family based events. So watch this space :-)

    Cheers,
    Jonathan
