    Hey everyone,

A mechanical engineer is looking for a list of Irish manufacturing firms that can help him get a prototype designed for him.

    Can anyone recommend a company?

    Cheers

    Hi All,

I was in contact with Eng Ireland and requested a point in the right direction towards Irish Manufacturing companies. They kindly posted this thread/request on my behalf.

I have recently launched a start up company. As part of this I require a functional prototype of a drinks dispensing machine.

This machine will require 3 x 2litre + liquid containers, dispensing nozzle, internal hot steam cleaning mechanism, run off system, electronic liquid selection panel with pre-set and custom mixing capabilities and a number of other specs which i cannot disclose on a public forum.

The plan is to have a prototype designed, manufactured and tested in service with the hope to scale up production to hundreds of machines, all going to plan.

Any information around companies ( Irish or UK ) who could provide this service would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Would you consider just adapting an existing drinks dispensing machine (e.g., for tea/coffee) as a proof-of-concept? These should already have the steam cleaning, drink selection etc. functions available which would save having to build them from scratch, and you could prototype your new stuff on top of this.

Hi Cdavis2323, You mentioned a couple of items which struck a chord with me. We have an electronics manufacturing facility here in Shannon Co.Clare but we also do design work and have some of our own products (M2M) which might be of interest to you in the work that you are doing. If you want to have a chat or if you want more info, pm me
    regards

    Hi all

    Thank you for your feedback.

It appears that no one has an actual list of food & drink related machine manufacturers in Ireland or the UK. Even a European based company would be a starting point.

I have taken note of the design considerations you have suggested but ideally at this stage I just need some points of contacts in companies which have prototyping capabilities.

I believe this company will be a mechanical engineering firm and may use some outsourced parts from electronics firms possibly, but the core design and build work is primarily mechanical...

    Thanks
