My partner and I are looking to go on a Sun holiday. His first, my 7th. We are both in our late 20s and I have outgrown the club scene...done Gran canaria, magaluf etc. I went to Fuerteventura but found there wasnt alot to do but the beaches were stunning. We want somewhere with great beaches but also sightseeing and good food. We have been looking at Alcudia and it looks nice but seems geared towards families and kids. Can anyone recommend somewhere for us. Not too long haul as we are only going for a week. Budget 1k and under. Thanks.

ps: Ive already been to barcelona

Maybe Tavira in the Algarve. Charming town, touristy without being tacky and there are some amazing beaches along that stretch of coast, many of them practically deserted. You could also consider Lagos if you wanted somewhere with more nightlife.

Some places that might fit the bill:

    San Sebastien
    Dubrovnik
    Valencia

I haven't been, but have heard good things about each of them. When you say budget of 1k.....is that flights and accom per person I take it?

If great beaches are a must, I would scratch Dubrovnik off the list.
Whilst it is well worth a visit for other reasons the stony beaches are nothing of note.
